Charlie came to Lone Wolf Knives with a wealth of knowledge about the sporting goods industry and the knife business specifically. Charlie was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Buck Knives from 1982 to 1996. At Buck he grew the business for them substantially with his innovative sales strategies that benefited the company and its customers. At Buck he managed two National Sales Managers, Marketing Manager, Limited Editions/Premium Manager, National Accounts Manager, Order Entry, Customer Service, Consumer Relations and an outside advertising agency. Needless to say, with this much influence, he was a key factor in the growth of Bucks sales during his years there.
Prior to working at Buck, Charlie held top level positions at several key sporting goods companies and marketing groups. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia Southern, Statesboro, Georgia. He also has continuing education in Total Quality Management, has attended numerous Marketing/Management Seminars and has completed a Dale Carnegie Speaking course.
Charlie left Buck to become Chief Executive Officer of "Sports Inc." in Lewistown Montana. Sports Inc. is a nationally recognized buying group that represents over 350 independent retailers doing about $145 million in sales annually. Charlie ran Sports Inc. from 1997 to 2001 and in this time frame the company grew dramatically. During his time at Sports Inc. he completely restructured the organization to better serve its membership and vender partners creating the efficiency and growth he predicted from these changes.
Early in 2002,Charlie agreed to help Lone Wolf Knives establish a dealer network and since that time has been working towards that goal. We are sure that Charlie will use his experience in sales and marketing to help us meet our goals.
